How to Get to the Cabin?
The easiest way to reach the cabin is by car, allowing you to explore various hiking spots. However, if your intention is to relax at the cabin and you don’t have a car, here are some alternative options.
By train from NYC - NJ Transit + Taxi
It costs $19.50 one way and the ride is just under 2h, but varies for each train.
From New York Penn Station To Middletown, NY on the Main/Bergen Line that ends at Port Jarvis or Middletown, NY. Be mindful, there is another *Middletown* in NJ, do not go to the wrong town.
The ride has a transfer in Secaucus.
For schedules, go to NJ Transit and select New York Penn Station and Middletown NY as your origin and destination.
Then in Middletown, call a Taxi to get to the Cabin. We suggest calling the taxi before your arrival so you can arrange the pickup time.
Robins Taxi: +1 845-343-5555
Sindicate Taxi: +1 845 343 1181
Details: You need to take one train from Penn Station to Secaucus (on the board it is any train that says "SEC"). When you get to Secaucus go up the stairs, validate your ticket by exiting thru the turnstiles, and then transfer to the Port Jervis Line or sometimes the Main-Bergen Line usually by going down the stairs to your right and then down another set of stairs to the announced platform. Most times it's on the H platform, but double check. On the board it will show up as either Port Jervis or Middletown NY, depending on the schedule. Also, on that same platform there might be earlier trains, so triple check the screens and only get on the one that says Port Jervis or Middletown NY.
By Bus from NYC - Short Line / Coach USA Bus + Taxi
It cost $33 one way and the ride is around 1 hour and 50 minutes, but it will depend of the traffic.
From New York, Port Authority Terminal To Monticello, Short Line Terminal
For schedules, go to CoachUSA
Then in Monticello, call a Taxi (Yellow Cab) at +1 845-794-4040 to get to the Cabin. We suggest calling the taxi before your arrival so you can arrange the pickup time.
